This article is about how to teach a Serbian Tricolour Hound jumping for agility. Often we are asked, “What number of jumps is best to start with?” You can never have enough solo jumps to learn agility. A good starting place is four jumps. This is the fewest count of jumps suggested.
Teaching the Serbian Tricolour Hound to jump: Begin with 4
You can teach the Serbian Tricolour Hound a variety of exercises, drills, and skills with 4 jumps. Four jumps will allow you to work on a short jump chute or jump grid. You can position a “box” with your jumps and work on 270 degree jumps, collection, and handling. You can teach your Serbian Tricolour Hound jumping right and left. You can be out of the box and send your Serbian Tricolour Hound or you can handle from within the box. Your jumps can be positioned in a horizontal line, so that you could practice serpentines and threadles.
