3 Tricks To Teach Your Broholmer

To teach your Broholmer tricks, even the easy ones, you should always have some of his favorite treats, go to a secluded suitable place and manage to keep the training sessions to under fifteen minutes or your Broholmer will begin to get tired. Just remember when he gets something correct give him great deals of praise and a reward snack, but be careful not to get him extra ecstatic or he might lose focus.

Teach your Broholmer to give you his paw

To teach your Broholmer to give you his paw, initially get him to sit, then as you say the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and offer him a snack. Now repeat this, and after a few times don’t take his paw so quickly. State the word ‘paw’, count to 1 and then after that take it. You must discover that he is raising his paw up as you state the word. If he does not then return to stating it at the very same time. Do it a couple more times then slow your response again. After a couple of sessions most Broholmers pick this trick up quite quickly.

Teach your Broholmer to offer you a high 5

Like a great deal of tricks the high five is a continuation of an easier trick, and in this case it’s the paw trick. Place a snack in your fingers and lift your hand just a little higher than you’d do for the paw trick. Your Broholmer will believe you wish to do the paw trick and will grab for the snack with his paw as we trained him in the prior trick. Once he rises you say “high five” and offer your Broholmer the treat. When your Broholmer has mastered the paw trick this one will most likely be extremely easy to understand and with only a couple of sessions he will be performing it from your hand signal instead of your voice.

Teach your Broholmer to jump through a hoop

Before you start this one I would simply like to ask you to be a little reasonable and not hold the hoop too high as you don’t really want your Broholmer to injure himself while doing the trick. Place your Broholmer on 1 side of a hula hoop, get him to take notice of your hand on the other side of the hoop. Hold a treat in your hand and give the Broholmer the direction to stop sitting. In the beginning he might try to go around or under the hoop. In the event that this happens begin again. Your Broholmer desires the treat and will soon discover that going around or underneath doesn’t work so he will quickly begin going through it. As soon as he does, state “hoop” and offer him the snack. He will soon be jumping through the hoop upon the command of “hoop”. When I started off doing this trick I owned a medium sized dog, so I began with the hoop 6 inches from the ground and slowly raised it to waist high. In the event that you have a smaller dog you may wish to begin with the hoop touching the ground so he simply goes through the hoop and then gradually raise it once he gets accustomed to the trick.

I expect you have enjoyed these 3 tricks you can teach your Broholmer. Have patience with your Broholmer and above all, have a good time!
