To teach your Shar Pei tricks, even the simple ones, you should always have some of his favorite snacks, teach him in a secluded suitable place and try to keep the training sessions to under 15 minutes or the Shar Pei will begin to get tired. Bear in mind when he gets something right offer him lots of appreciation and a reward treat, yet take care not to get him extremely excited or he will lose focus.
Teach your Shar Pei to offer you his paw
To get your Shar Pei to give you his paw, initially get him to sit, then as you state the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and give him a treat. Next do it again, and after a few practices do not take his paw so fast. State the word ‘paw’, count to one and only then take it. You ought to see that he is bringing his paw up as you say the word. Teach your Shar Pei to offer you a high 5

Place your Shar Pei to 1 side of a hula hoop, get him to pay attention to your hand on the other side of the hoop. Place a treat in your hand and offer the Shar Pei the direction to stop sitting. Initially he may try to walk around or under the hoop. In the event that this happens begin once again. Your Shar Pei desires the treat and will soon discover that walking around or below does not get it done so he’ll soon start going through it. When he does, state “hoop” and give him the treat. He will quickly be jumping through the hoop upon the command of “hoop”. When I initially began teaching this trick I had a medium sized dog, so I started with the hoop six inches from the ground and gradually raised it to waist high. In the case that you possess a smaller dog you may desire to begin with the hoop touching the ground so he just goes through the hoop and after that gradually raise it as he gets used to the trick.
