Do you have space for the Kishu, or does your landlord allow dogs? Families living in apartments or townhouses may prefer a bird, a fish, or cat, instead of the Kishu. Check your local library or Internet to learn more about Kishus to learn if another breed may be more appropriate for your family.
Raising the Kishu is time consuming and not cheap. Family members should realize that they may have to forsake current activities to properly care for the Kishu. If the requirement turns out to be too much of a committment, you should suggest postponing until the child is old enough to help raise the Kishu.
