Who is going to care for the Pointer? Families should agree beforehand who will be in charge of feeding, walking, bathing and picking up behind the Pointer.
Is there an area for the Pointer, and does your landlord allow dogs? Folks who live in apartments or townhouses may prefer a cat, a bird or fish, instead of the Pointer. Check your local library or Internet to learn more about Pointers to learn if another pet may be more suited for your family.
Being the owner of the Pointer is a big committment and can be expensive. Your family must understand that they are required to forego other activities to properly care for the Pointer. If that requirement turns out to be too daunting, you may think about postponing until the child is old enough to help raise the Pointer.
