Families living in townhouses or apartments may be better suited to a cat, a fish , or bird, rather than the American Bulldog. Check your local library or Internet to discover more about American Bulldogs to determine if another dog may be more suited for the household.

Raising the American Bulldog is a big committment and can be expensive. The family has to know that they will have to give up existing activities to spend time with the American Bulldog. If that requirement is too much of a committment, you should suggest waiting until the child is old enough to help care for the American Bulldog.
