This post is about teaching a Bakharwal Dog jumping for agility. Often we are asked, “What number of jumps should I start with?” You can never have too many single jumps to learn agility. One good starting point is four jumps. This is the fewest quantity of jumps recommended.
How to Teach Your Bakharwal Dog to jump: Begin with Four
You can teach the Bakharwal Dog many skills, drills, and exercises with four jumps. Four jumps will let you develop on a short jump chute or jump grid. You can position a “box” with your jumps and work on collection, handling, and 270 degree jumps. You can teach your Bakharwal Dog jumping right and left. You could be out of the box and send your Bakharwal Dog or you can handle from within the box. Your jumps could be staged in a lateral row, so you can practice threadles and serpentines.
