To teach your Austrian Black And Tan Hound tricks, even the easy ones, you should always have some of his favorite treats, teach him in an obscure suitable location and maintain the learning sessions to under fifteen minutes or the Austrian Black And Tan Hound will start to get bored. Always remember when he gets something right give him lots of praise and a reward snack, though take care not to get him extra thrilled or he will lose focus.
Teach your Austrian Black And Tan Hound to offer you his paw
To get your Austrian Black And Tan Hound to give you his paw, initially get him to sit, then as you state the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and give him a snack. After that do this again, and after a couple of successful tries don’t take his paw so quickly. Say the word ‘paw’, count to 1 and after that take it. You should discover that he is raising his paw up as you say the word. If he does not then return to saying it at the exact same time. Do it a couple more times then slow your response again. After a few sessions most Austrian Black And Tan Hounds pick this trick up quite quickly.
Teach your Austrian Black And Tan Hound to give you a high five
Like a lot of tricks the high 5 is a continuation of an earlier trick, and in this case the paw trick. Place a snack in your fingers and lift your hand just a bit higher than you’d raise it for the paw trick. Your Austrian Black And Tan Hound will believe you desire to do the paw trick and will grab for the treat with his paw as we trained him in the prior trick. Once he rises you say “high 5” and offer your Austrian Black And Tan Hound the snack. When your Austrian Black And Tan Hound has mastered the paw trick this 1 will most likely be really easy to learn and with just a couple of sessions he will be performing it on hand signal instead of your voice.
Teach your Austrian Black And Tan Hound to leap through a hoop
Before you start this one I would just like to ask you to be a little practical and not hold the hoop higher than necessary as you do not really want your Austrian Black And Tan Hound to hurt himself while doing the trick. Place your Austrian Black And Tan Hound to 1 side of a hula hoop, get him to focus on your hand on the opposite side of the hoop. Hold a snack in your hand and give the Austrian Black And Tan Hound the command to stop sitting. Initially he may try to go around or below the hula hoop. When this happens start once again. Your Austrian Black And Tan Hound wants the snack and will quickly discover that going around or under does not get it done so he will quickly start going through it. The minute he does, say “hoop” and offer him the snack. He will soon be leaping through the hoop upon the command of “hoop”. When I initially started teaching this trick I owned a medium sized dog, so I started with the hoop six inches from the ground and gradually increased it to waist high. In the case that you have a smaller sized dog you might want to start with the hoop on the floor so he just goes through the hoop and after that slowly elevate it more once he gets accustomed to the trick.
I trust you have enjoyed learning these 3 tricks you can teach your Austrian Black And Tan Hound. Have patience with your Austrian Black And Tan Hound and most importantly, have a good time!
