Who will care for the Kintamani? Households should come to an agreement beforehand who is to be the one responsible for feeding, walking, bathing and cleaning up after the Kintamani.
Do you have room for the Kintamani, and does your landlord allow dogs? Folks living in apartments or townhouses may be better suited to a cat, a bird or fish, instead of the Kintamani. Check the library or online to learn more about Kintamanis to determine if another animal may be more suitable for your family.
Owning the Kintamani is time consuming and not cheap. The family must realize that they will have to give up other activities to spend time with the Kintamani. If that idea turns out to be too much of a committment, parents might think about delaying until the child is old enough to help care for the Kintamani.
