To teach your Mucuchies tricks, even the easy ones, you should get some small snacks, go to a quiet suitable location and keep the teaching sessions to under 15 minutes or the Mucuchies will begin to get bored. Just remember when he gets something right give him great deals of praise and a reward snack, but be mindful not to get him over ecstatic or he might lose concentration.
Teach your Mucuchies to offer you his paw
To teach your Mucuchies to give you his paw, first get him to sit, then as you say the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and offer him a treat. After that do it again, and after a couple of times do not take his paw so fast. Say the word ‘paw’, count to 1 and then take it. You need to notice that he is raising his paw up as you say the word. If he does not then go back to stating it at the exact same time. Do it a couple more times then slow your reaction again. After a few sessions most Mucuchiess pick this trick up rather quickly.
Teach your Mucuchies to offer you a high 5
Like a lot of tricks the high five is a continuation of a simpler trick, in this case the paw trick. Hold a snack in between your two fingers and lift your hand a little higher than you’d raise it for the paw trick. Your Mucuchies will believe you wish to perform the paw trick and will grab for the snack with his paw as we had instructed him earlier. As he rises you state “high five” and give your Mucuchies the treat. Once your Mucuchies has actually mastered the paw trick this one should be very easy to master and with only a few sessions he will be doing it on hand signal rather than vocal commands.
Teach your Mucuchies to jump through a hoop
Before you start this one I would just like to ask you to be a little practical and not suspend the hoop higher than necessary as you don’t want your Mucuchies to harm himself while performing the trick. Set your Mucuchies on 1 side of a hula hoop, get him to pay attention to your hand on the opposite side of the hoop. Place a treat in your hand and give the Mucuchies the direction to stop sitting. In the beginning he might attempt to go around or under the hoop. In the event that this occurs start once again. Your Mucuchies desires the snack and will quickly learn that going around or underneath does not get it so he will soon begin going through it. Whenever he does, state “hoop” and give him the treat. He’ll soon be jumping through the hoop upon the command of “hoop”. When I started off teaching this trick I owned a medium sized dog, so I began with the hoop 6 inches from the floor and slowly lifted it to waist height. If you own a smaller dog you might wish to start with the hoop on the floor so he simply goes through the hoop and then slowly elevate it more once he gets used to the trick.
I expect you have enjoyed learning these 3 tricks you can teach your Mucuchies. Have patience with your Mucuchies and most importantly, have fun!
