To teach your Magyar Agar tricks, even simple ones, you should have in hand some of his favorite treats, go to an obscure suitable place and keep the training sessions to 10 – 15 minutes or your Magyar Agar will start to get tired. Keep in mind when he gets something right give him lots of appreciation and a reward snack, but be mindful not to get him overly thrilled or he might lose focus.
Teach your Magyar Agar to give you his paw
To train your Magyar Agar to give you his paw, initially get him to sit, then as you say the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and give him a treat. And then do it again, and after a few practices don’t take his paw so quickly. State the word ‘paw’, count to one and only then take it. You ought to notice that he is raising his paw up as you say the word. If he does not then return to saying it at the exact same time. Do it a couple more times then slow your reaction once again. After a few sessions most Magyar Agars pick this trick up quite easily.
Teach your Magyar Agar to offer you a high 5

Your Magyar Agar desires the snack and will soon discover that walking around or below does not work so he’ll quickly start going through it. Once he does, state “hoop” and give him the snack. He’ll quickly be leaping through the hoop on the command of “hoop”. When I first started teaching this trick I owned a medium sized dog, so I started with the hoop 6 inches from the ground and gradually increased it to waist high. In the event that you have a smaller dog you may wish to start with the hoop on the ground so he simply goes through the hoop and then slowly elevate it once he gets accustomed to the trick.
