To teach your Berner Laufhund tricks, even easy ones, you should have in hand some of his favorite snacks, take him to a quiet suitable place and try to keep the instruction sessions to 10 – 15 minutes or your Berner Laufhund will begin to get bored. Keep in mind when he gets something right offer him great deals of appreciation and a reward snack, though be cautious not to get him extra excited or he will lose concentration.
Teach your Berner Laufhund to give you his paw
To train your Berner Laufhund to give you his paw, first get him to sit, then as you state the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and offer him a treat. After that do this again, and after a few times do not take his paw so quickly. Say the word ‘paw’, count to one and then after that take it.
