Teach Your Rastreador Brasileiro to Sit: Acquaint Her With The Phrase
Keep her from pitching towards you by keeping one hand on her chin and using your second hand dangle the treat above your Rastreador Brasileiro’s face. Keep saying deliberately and distinctly, “sit.” Do not make her sit up too long at one time, but repeat the instruction routinely and reward her regularly with loads of appreciation and snacks.
Teach Your Rastreador Brasileiro to Sit: Help Her Balance
In her 1st lesson she will require considerable help and support from you to prevent her from tumbling forward, but as she gains better control of the stabilizing muscles and starts to understand what you want, she will depend less upon your hand to keep her steady. Gradually, you can give your Rastreador Brasileiro less help until you’ll simply have to leave one hand in position two or three inches from her chin or neck, to be waiting to prevent her falling forward; eventually you can easily withdraw the hand completely and just suspend the treat right over the height of your Rastreador Brasileiro’s head.
Teach Your Rastreador Brasileiro To Sit: Remove the Aids Slowly And Gradually
After steady practice your Rastreador Brasileiro will stay seated for a good while after you get her to sit. Afterward she should be set up against your wall, so as to give her support for her back only. After she has understood this and can hold her posture easily, practice with her using chair legs, pillows or other items that provide her less and less support. Gradually she will learn how to keep her balance and sit up without needing anything to rest on.

In the course of all these lessons the words "sit up" will have been ingrained upon her mind by frequent repetition. Last is the final training to teach your Rastreador Brasileiro to sit up immediately after she hears the words. There's a great chance, if she has been properly instructed, you will just have to get her out in the room, reveal to her a treat, hold it up a reasonable distance from the floor, say "sit up or sit" and she'll obey. Then give her the treat while still in position.
The only prerequisite for excellence is to rehearse with your Rastreador Brasileiro several times a day until she will sit when told and without being shown a snack; give her the treats only after she has obeyed the order.
Teach Your Rastreador Brasileiro Other Tricks
You have now the groundwork for teaching your Rastreador Brasileiro many other skills. She now can be taught to beg by waving your hand up and down in front of her paws, which she will move in conjunction with yours. She also can learn to salute by moving one paw to the side of her head, or to hold a wooden pipe in her mouth, or to wear a hat on her head or wear other articles of clothing.
When instructing a Rastreador Brasileiro to tolerate being clothed, do not try to get her to wear too many items at once. Try at first with a cap. Only after she gets adjusted to that you can put on a jacket and slowly and gradually introduce her to more garments.
