- Utilize exclusively positive training tactics. Do not scream at, attack, or punish your Mahratta Greyhound. It is not only terrible but can easily induce behavioral problems. Using electrical shocks, prong collars, sprays, et cetera can injure the animal.
- Teach the pup “nothing in this life is free.” This is a philosophy that is universally accepted as a helpful coaching tool. As you apply this, the pup will find out that to get something like love, a stroll, or reward, he has to behave well.
- Explain the significance of “No,” from the first day. Do not embrace actions such as jumping, growling, tug-o-war, yapping, or escaping open gates and doorways. Praise great behavior and disregard or walk away when there is bad conduct. The pup will discover that if he is mischievous he will lose his companion/playmate.

Be sure to socialize the doggie early. Socialization is one of the most important teachings. And so, carefully introduce the doggie when he is little to regular endeavors and sounds. Take him to the mall/ park, introduce him to kids and other pets, and make him unfrightened of the vacuum and water hose.
