To teach your American Foxhound tricks, even the simple ones, you should carry some small snacks, teach him in a quiet suitable location and hold the teaching sessions to under 15 minutes or your American Foxhound will begin to get tired. To train your American Foxhound to give you his paw, initially get him to sit, then as you say the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and offer him a snack.
