There are as many ways to care for a Norwegian Lundehund puppy as there are to raising a kid. In fact, one method per household in general! But most of us concur that when it comes to kids, a few things are universal and indisputable. Here are 3 things that a lot of individuals just do not consider when it comes to raising their Norwegian Lundehunds, however. How many times have we heard, “My Norwegian Lundehund simply will not listen to me”, or “He just will not behave!”
Norwegian Lundehunds don’t understand English up until we train them.
The main thing all of us enjoy about Norwegian Lundehund puppies most is the fact that they live for us, the fact that they focus all they have on us, the method our lives end up being theirs. In the beginning, they study us to learn our body movement, our expressions and our language. Till we teach them the English language, it’s all they have. If we say, “Wanna go out?” one day, “Have to go potty?” the next day, and, “Hafta pee?” the third day, if they DO determine what we want, it is because we have picked up the leash and moved toward the door with a pleased face! If you wish to accelerate his training by three-fold, teach him YOUR language. Choose a command for EACH action and stay with it. Teach those in your household to utilize the same words and commands, and your Norwegian Lundehund puppy will astonish you at just how much faster he figures it out.
A young Norwegian Lundehund puppy’s metabolic process is racing along faster than we think.
The younger your Norwegian Lundehund is, the quicker he is growing, the more food and water he requires to sustain his metabolic process, and the more often he has to go potty. Do not penalize your puppy when he makes a house-breaking error. These are YOUR fault. The age of your Norwegian Lundehund in weeks and his size identify how often he must go out. One time an hour is not too often for a large 6-week old puppy, particularly if it is summertime. Norwegian Lundehunds like the amazing smells outdoors, so there is no excuse to not have him housebroken by 7-8 weeks old. Right after a nap, after he consumes and after grooming are the crucial times, and he will alert you. If he is happily chewing a toy and gets up suddenly with his nose to the flooring, move rapidly! And every time he goes potty outside, praise him to high heaven! “What an excellent PUP!”, “GOOD go potty!” and the like. Norwegian Lundehunds enjoy our delighted faces, and they will do anything to get it.
Norwegian Lundehunds live for our facial expressions and body language.
Given this, the worst punishment you ever need to provide your Norwegian Lundehund is a scowl and to turn away from him. You can see his tail drop and his face get so serious. He will understand the lesson, I ensure it. But his attention span is just 3-5 minutes, so do not deride him any longer. Love him up and offer him your happy face again. Physical punishment is never required. Work with constant commands and loving appreciation and he will know what you desire of him prior to you understand. He will become a master of your body movement and facial expressions in no time at all.
Naturally there are lots of aspects of training your Norwegian Lundehund puppy well. Loving kindness works just as well for Norwegian Lundehund pups as it does with children, producing a happy, well-adjusted and obedient dog for life. These 3 essential suggestions, used consistently with self-confidence, will start him well on his way.
