How to Teach the Anatolian Shepherd Dog to jump: Begin with 4
You can teach your Anatolian Shepherd Dog a multitude of exercises, drills, and skills with four jumps. Four jumps will let you work on a short jump chute or jump grid. You can position a “box” with your jumps and work on 270 degree jumps, collection, and handling. You can teach your Anatolian Shepherd Dog jumping right and left. You could be outside the box and send your Anatolian Shepherd Dog or you can handle from within the box. Your jumps could be staged in a lateral line, so that you can practice threadles and serpentines.
Teach a Anatolian Shepherd Dog 8 Jumps
Go to the next logical step and practice eight jumps. Now you can setup two boxes with 1 introductory jump. Now you’ve multiplied your routines that you can work on with your Anatolian Shepherd Dog. Your jump grids can be of recommended size and quantity of jumps. You could also position your jumps in a circle with the jump bars perpendicular to the circle or on the circumference of the circle. This pattern also enables you to work on a variety of drills.
Teaching a Anatolian Shepherd Dog Double and Triple Jumps
The next consideration is a double jump and a triple jump. You could position 2 or 3 single jumps together to make your expanded jump, however having double and triple jumps in your course work is extremely valuable to practice. We’ve seen several Anatolian Shepherd Dogs run a perfect course and the last obstacle is a triple and the Anatolian Shepherd Dog is not prepared for it, and bang, down goes the bar.
