This post is concerning how to teach your Polish Hunting Dog jumping for agility. Often we are asked, “How many jumps is best to begin with?” You can never have too many solo jumps to practice agility. A good starting point is four jumps. This is the absolute fewest count of jumps suggested.
Teaching the Polish Hunting Dog jumping: Start with 4
You can teach your Polish Hunting Dog a multitude of drills, skills, and exercises with four jumps. Four jumps will allow you to develop on a short jump chute or jump grid. You can position a “box” with your jumps and work on collection, handling, and 270 degree jumps. You can teach your Polish Hunting Dog jumping right and left. You could be outside the box and send your Polish Hunting Dog or you can handle from the inside of the box. Your jumps could be positioned in a horizontal row, so you could practice serpentines and threadles.
