This blog is concerning how to teach the Lithuanian Hound to jump for agility. We are often asked, “What number of jumps is best to start with?” You can never have too many single jumps to teach agility. A suitable starting place is four jumps. This is the least number of jumps suggested.
Teaching the Lithuanian Hound jumping: Begin with 4
You can teach your Lithuanian Hound a number of exercises, drills, and skills with four jumps. Four jumps will let you work on a short jump chute or jump grid. You can position a “box” with your jumps and work on collection, handling, and 270 degree jumps. You can teach your Lithuanian Hound jumping left and right. You can be outside the box and send your Lithuanian Hound or you can handle from within the box. Your jumps could be positioned in a lateral row, so you can practice serpentines and threadles.
