Constant repeating of this training will produce efficiency. In time you need to stop restraining his head with your hand and enable him to balance the treat on his nose till you state “Paid for.”
He can also be taught to hold the snack in between his teeth and to not swallow it till informed to do so. This technique can be made more impressive by holding a conversation with your French Bulldog. For instance, you may state: “Buddy, old man, here is a very yummy snack, however it is ‘on trust.'”
Slightly highlight the word “trust” and then say: “I am happy you dislike eating things on trust, however this I have actually just discovered has been ‘paid for,'” highlighting the words “paid for.”
Your French Bulldog can also be taught to toss the treat on hearing a specific number. To teach this, balance it on his nose and hold his head while you count clearly and deliberately, one, two, three, and then nudge him under the chin. Before he has actually learned the trick he will toss it up as often at one, two, four, as he will at one, two, three, but he must be drilled until he will not toss it until he hears “three.” It will make it simpler for him if you somewhat highlight the “THREE” word.
After a while you can use lots of combinations of numbers and he will wait till he hears the stressed “3.” As you are training him do not make him wait too long prior to you say “three,” and enable him to eat the treat.

Remember, do not punish your French Bulldog if he can’t master the technique, instead blame yourself for being a poor teacher.:–RRB- In any case, enjoy teaching your French Bulldog this trick and have lots of fun while you’re at it.
