Sooner or later, you are likely to hear: “Mommy, can we get that Vizsla puppy?”
Rather than avoid the question, parents are advised to think about if their clan is ready for a new puppy, and even moreso a Vizsla, says Sharon Bergen, senior vice president of education and training for Knowledge Learning Corporation, the nation’s foremost provider of early childhood care and education.

Who is going to care for the Vizsla? Households must agree in advance who is to be the one in charge of walking feeding, bathing and picking up behind the Vizsla.
Is there an area for the Vizsla, or does your landlord allow dogs? Folks living in apartments or townhouses may prefer a bird, a fish, or cat, rather than the Vizsla. Check the library or Internet to find out more about Vizslas to determine if another animal may be more suitable for your household.
Being the owner of the Vizsla is time consuming and not cheap. The family must realize that they are required to forsake existing activities to spend time with the Vizsla. If the thought turns out to be too much of a committment, you might consider postponing until the child is committed enough to help care for the Vizsla.
