Teach Your Pomeranian to Sit: Preparation
Sitting is one of the fundamental tricks that should be taught to your Pomeranian and lays the foundation for myriad other tricks. In order to train a Pomeranian to sit up, put together some snacks as a perk, and set your Pomeranian on her haunches in a corner, to ensure she will not fall either backward or sideways and has very little or no room to stumble.
Teach Your Pomeranian to Sit: Acquaint Her With The Phrase
Prevent her from tilting towards you by holding 1 hand on her chin and using your second hand dangle her treat above her face. Keep saying clearly and deliberately, “sit up.” Do not force her to sit up for too long at any one time, however repeat the training often and reward her regularly with a lot of cheers and treats.
Teach Your Pomeranian to Sit: Help Her Keep Her Balance
Throughout the very first lesson she will need quite a bit of help from your hand to prevent her from tumbling forward, but as she gets better control of her stabilizing muscles and comprehends what you want, she will count less on your hand to hold her steady. Throughout all these lessons the phrase "sit up" will have been instilled upon her mind by means of regular repetition. Now is the final lesson to teach your Pomeranian to sit up as quickly as she hears the command. Chances are, if she has been properly instructed, you will just have to get her out in the room, show a snack, hold it up a reasonable distance from the ground, say "sit up or sit" and she'll obey. Then give her the snack while still in position.
The only necessity for excellence is to train with her several times a day until she will sit up when told and without being shown a reward; give her the snacks only once she has followed the direction.
Teach Your Pomeranian Other Tricks
You have now the method for teaching your Pomeranian many other tricks. She can now learn how to beg by waving your hand up and down in front of her paws, which she'll move in rhythm with yours. She also can be taught to salute by bringing one paw up to the side of her head, or to hold something in her mouth, or to wear a hat on her head or wear other clothing.
When teaching a Pomeranian to submit to being clothed, do not try to make her wear too many items at once. Try at first with just a hat. Once she gets accustomed to that you can put on a coat and over time introduce her to the other clothes.
