Sitting up is one of the most basic techniques that you should teach to a East Siberian Laika and provides the ground work for lots of other skills. In order to train a East Siberian Laika to sit up, organize some snacks as a perk, and set the East Siberian Laika on her rump in the corner, so she won’t fall either backward or sideways and has very little or no space to lose balance.
Teach Your East Siberian Laika to Sit: Acquaint Her With The Phrase
Prevent her from tilting to the front by keeping one hand under her chin and with your other hand hold the treat above your East Siberian Laika’s face. Keep repeating deliberately and clearly, “sit.” Do not make her sit too long at one time, however repeat the training often and reward her frequently with lots of recognition and snacks.
Teach Your East Siberian Laika to Sit: Help Her Keep Her Balance
Throughout her very first lesson she will require significant help and support from your hand to keep her from falling forward, but as she gains more control of her stabilizing muscles and learns what you want, she’ll count less upon your hand to keep her steady. Gradually, you can give her less support up until you’ll merely have to keep one hand in position 2 or 3 inches from her neck or chin, to be waiting to stop her from falling forward; later you can probably remove your hand altogether and just suspend the snack just over the height of her face.

After regular training she will sit up long after you tell her to. Afterward she should be set up against your wall, so as to offer her a support for her back. Only after she has figured out this and can maintain her place easily, practice with her up against chair legs, cushions or other things that offer her less and less support. Eventually she will be trained to sustain her balance and sit up without relying on anything to lean against.

Throughout all this training the phrase "sit up" will have been impressed upon her psyche by means of persistent repetition. Now is the final lesson to teach your East Siberian Laika to sit up whenever she hears the words. There's a good chance, if she has been diligently taught, you will merely have to get her out in the room, show a snack, hold it up a suitable distance from the floor, say "sit up" and she will do so. Then just give her the reward while still in position.
The only criteria for perfection is to train with her multiple times a day until she sits on command and without being shown a treat; give her the snacks only after she has adhered to the direction.
Teach Your East Siberian Laika Other Tricks
You have now the foundation for teaching your East Siberian Laika many other tricks. She can now learn how to beg by waving your hand up and down just in front of her paws, which she will move in rhythm with yours. She can also learn to salute by moving one paw to the side of her head, or to hold something in her mouth, or to wear a hat on her head or wear other clothes.
In instructing a East Siberian Laika to tolerate being dressed up, do not try to make her wear too many garments simultaneously. Try her at first with just a hat. Only after she becomes accustomed to that you can put on a coat and gradually over time introduce her to the other clothing.
