General Armant Obedience Tips
Training needs to be a pleasant and rewarding experience for both you and the Armant. If you’re not in the best mindset for training, don’t even think of starting. Always treat your Armant for heeding your commands promptly! A treat is anything that your Armant wants and is happy to earn. Food is the usual prize but different prizes could be oral admiration and playthings. Multiple shorter sessions are typically more effective than a long one. Training shouldn’t contain any negative components or punishment. There should be no shouting, no smacking or hitting, no leash yanking on training chains or collars, and absolutely no electricity! Each training session needs to be enjoyed and positive with praise for each job well done.
Training Armants with head collars
Yanking the leash is one of the few unpleasant tasks of training a new Armant puppy. Using a head collar for Armant training has become very popular during the last decade. Training with a head collar does have some unique advantages over the traditional training collar. Although very simple to use, it is crucial that head collars are fit correctly and your Armant correctly introduced to the collar. Head collars are generally more easy to use than a traditional training collar. Head collars are very powerful when training Armants in tricky situations.
