This blog is concerning how to teach your Jagdterrier to jump for agility. Often we are asked, “What number of jumps should I start with?” You can never have enough single jumps to practice agility. One suitable starting point is 4 jumps. This is the fewest number of jumps that we suggest.
How to Teach a Jagdterrier jumping: Start with Four
You can teach the Jagdterrier many drills, skills, and exercises with 4 jumps. 4 jumps will let you develop on a short jump chute or jump grid. You can setup a “box” with your jumps and work on collection, handling, and 270 degree jumps. You can teach your Jagdterrier jumping right and left. You can be out of the box and send your Jagdterrier or you can handle from the inside of the box. Your jumps can be staged in a lateral line, so that you could practice serpentines and threadles.
