This blog is concerning how to teach a Tyrolean Hound to jump for agility. We are often asked, “What number of jumps is best to begin with?” You can never have too many single jumps to practice agility. One good starting point is four jumps. This is the absolute least number of jumps that we recommend.
Teaching a Tyrolean Hound to jump: Begin with Four
You can teach your Tyrolean Hound many drills, skills, and exercises with 4 jumps. 4 jumps will allow you to develop on a short jump chute or jump grid. You can practice on a “box” with your jumps and work on 270 degree jumps, collection, and handling. You can teach your Tyrolean Hound jumping left and right. You could be out of the box and send your Tyrolean Hound or you can handle from within the box. Your jumps could be setup in a lateral line, so you can practice threadles and serpentines.
