This post is about how to teach a Cesky Fousek to jump for agility. Often we are asked, “How many jumps is best to begin with?” You can never have enough single jumps to practice agility. A suitable starting place is four jumps. This is the fewest count of jumps that we suggest.
Teaching Your Cesky Fousek jumping: Begin with Four
You can teach the Cesky Fousek a number of exercises, skills, and drills with 4 jumps. Four jumps will let you develop on a short jump chute or jump grid. You can position a “box” with your jumps and work on handling, collection, and 270 degree jumps. You can teach your Cesky Fousek jumping right and left. You can be outside the box and send your Cesky Fousek or you can handle from within the box. Your jumps can be setup in a lateral row, so you could practice threadles and serpentines.
