To teach your Hygenhund tricks, even simple ones, you should get some yummy treats, teach him in a secluded suitable place and always keep the coaching sessions to under 15 minutes or the Hygenhund will start to get bored. Keep in mind when he gets something right offer him great deals of appreciation and a reward snack, though take care not to get him over ecstatic or he might lose concentration.
Teach your Hygenhund to give you his paw
To get your Hygenhund to give you his paw, first get him to sit, then as you state the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and give him a snack. And then do it again, and after a few practices don’t take his paw so quickly. Say the word ‘paw’, count to one and then take it. You need to see that he is bringing his paw up as you say the word. If he doesn’t then go back to stating it at the very same time. Do it a couple more times then slow your reaction once again. After a few sessions most Hygenhunds pick this trick up quite easily.
Teach your Hygenhund to offer you a high five
Like a great deal of tricks the high five is a continuation of a basic trick, in this case it’s the paw trick. Hold a treat in between your two fingers and raise your hand a little bit higher than you would raise it for the paw trick. Your Hygenhund will presume you want to do the paw trick and will grab the snack with his paw as we trained him earlier. Once he rises you say “high five” and offer him the snack. When your Hygenhund has actually mastered the paw trick this 1 will likely be really easy to understand and with only a few sessions he will be performing it on hand signal instead of vocal commands.
Teach your Hygenhund to jump through a hoop
Before you start this 1 I would simply like to ask you to be a little sensible and not hold the hoop higher than necessary as you do not really want your Hygenhund to hurt himself while performing the trick. Set your Hygenhund to one side of a hula hoop, get him to focus on your hand on the opposite side of the hoop. Hold a snack in your hand and offer the Hygenhund the command to stop sitting. At first he might attempt to walk around or under the hoop. If this occurs start again. Your Hygenhund wants the snack and will soon find out that walking around or under doesn’t get it so he’ll quickly begin going through it. The instant he does, say “hoop” and offer him the snack. He’ll quickly be jumping through the hoop on the command of “hoop”. When I initially started teaching this trick I had a medium sized dog, so I started with the hoop 6 inches from the ground and slowly increased it to waist high. In case you have a smaller sized dog you may wish to begin with the hoop on the ground so he just goes through the hoop and then slowly elevate it as he gets accustomed to the trick.
I trust you have enjoyed these 3 tricks you can teach your Hygenhund. Have patience with your Hygenhund and above all, have fun!
