Want to Teach Your Aidi Some Tricks: Here are Three

3 Tricks To Teach Your Aidi
3 Tricks To Teach Your Aidi

To teach your Aidi tricks, even the simple ones, you should have in hand some good snacks, take him to a quiet suitable place and try to keep the instruction sessions to 10 – 15 minutes or your Aidi will start to get tired. Take note that when he gets something right give him lots of praise and a reward snack, just beware not to get him excessively fired up or he might possibly lose concentration.

Teach your Aidi to give you his paw

To teach your Aidi to offer you his paw, initially get him to sit, then as you state the word ‘paw’ take his paw in your hand and offer him a snack. Now do this again, and after a few times do not take his paw so fast. State the word ‘paw’, count to one and then after that take it. You need to notice that he is bringing his paw up as you state the word. If he does not then go back to stating it at the exact same time. Do it a couple of more times then slow your reaction once again. After two or three sessions most Aidis pick this trick up rather easily.

Teach your Aidi to offer you a high five

Like a great deal of tricks the high five is a progression of an earlier trick, in this case the paw trick. Hold a snack in between your fingers and raise your hand just a bit higher than you would for the paw trick. Your Aidi will presume you wish to perform the paw trick and will grab for the treat with his paw as we taught him in the previous trick. As he reaches up you state “high 5” and give him the snack. As soon as your Aidi has mastered the paw trick this 1 should be really easy to learn and with only a couple of sessions he will be accomplishing it from your hand signal instead of from your voice.

Teach your Aidi to jump through a hoop

Before you begin this one I would just like to ask you to be a little reasonable and not hold the hoop higher than necessary as you don’t want your Aidi to harm himself while practicing the trick. Place your Aidi on 1 side of a hula hoop, get him to take note of your hand on the other side of the hoop. Hold a snack in your hand and give the Aidi the command to stop sitting. At first he might try to go around or under the hoop. In the event that this happens begin again. Your Aidi desires the snack and will quickly discover that walking around or beneath does not get it done so he’ll soon start going through it. The instant he does, say “hoop” and offer him the treat. He will soon be leaping through the hoop upon the command of “hoop”. When I began doing this trick I owned a medium sized dog, so I started with the hoop six inches from the floor and slowly raised it to waist height. In the case that you possess a smaller sized dog you might wish to begin with the hoop on the floor so he just goes through the hoop and then gradually raise it more as he gets accustomed to the trick.

I expect you have enjoyed these 3 tricks you can teach your Aidi. Have patience with your Aidi and above all, have fun!
