3 tips to train your Borzoi puppy

There are truly as many methods to raise a Borzoi puppy as there are to rearing a kid. In fact, one method per household at least! However the majority of us agree that when it comes to kids, certain things are universal and undeniable. Here are 3 things that a great deal of individuals simply do not remember when it pertains to raising their Borzois, however. I can’t count how many times have I heard, “My Borzoi simply will not listen to me”, or “He simply will not behave!”

Borzois do not understand English up until we teach them.

The main thing we all love about Borzoi puppies the most is the way in which they live for us, the fact that they focus all they have on us, the fact that our lives end up being theirs. In the beginning, they study us to discover our body language, our facial expressions and our language. Up until we teach them the English language, it’s all they have. If we state, “Need to head out?” one day, “Have to go potty?” the next day, and, “Hafta pee?” the 3rd day, if they DO determine what we desire, it is because we have picked up the leash and approached the door with a pleased face! If you wish to accelerate his training by three-fold, teach him YOUR language. Pick a command for EACH behavior and stay with it. Teach those in your family to utilize the same words and commands, and your Borzoi puppy will impress you at how much faster he gets it.

A young Borzoi puppy’s metabolism is racing along faster than we believe.

The more youthful your Borzoi is, the quicker he is growing, the more food and water he needs to fuel his metabolism, and the more frequently he needs to go potty. Do not penalize your puppy when he makes a house-breaking mistake. These are YOUR fault. The age of your Borzoi in weeks and his size establish how typically he must go out. Once per hour is not too often for a large 6-week old puppy, particularly if it is summer season. Borzois love the exciting smells outdoors, so there is no reason to not have him housebroken by 7-8 weeks of age. Right after a nap, after he eats and after grooming are the essential times, and he will alert you. If he is gladly chewing a toy and gets up unexpectedly with his nose to the flooring, move quickly! And each time he goes potty outside, applaud him to high paradise! “What a good BOY!”, “GOOD go potty!” and so on. Borzois love our happy faces, and they will do anything to get it.

Borzois live for our expressions and body movement.

Given this, the worst penalty you ever need to offer your Borzoi is a frown and to turn away from him. You can see his tail drop and his face get so serious. He will understand the lesson, I ensure it. However his attention span is just 3-5 minutes, so do not chastise him any longer. Love him up and offer him your pleased face once again. Physical penalty is never ever needed. Work with constant commands and caring appreciation and he will know what you want of him before you understand. He will become a master of your body language and expressions in no time at all.

Naturally there are many elements of training your Borzoi puppy well. Caring kindness works just as well for Borzoi pups as it does with kids, developing a delighted, well-adjusted and obedient dog for life. These three important tips, used regularly with self-confidence, will start him well on his way.
